Fit diet after kidney transplant not only can improve patients quality of life ,but also can delay the new kidney goes failure and reduce complications caused by anti-rejection drugs.What aspects do patients need to pay attention ? So, keep a fit diet after operation is very important. Let us have a look at together.
1. Water: for patients who have accepted kidney transplant should drink more than 2000ml water every day. If appear oliguria(less than 400ml/day), patients should intake enough water 500-700ml.
2. Salt: limit salt intake(3-4g for each day) is vital for patients health. If has no other complication such as edema and high blood pressure, patients can intake a little more salt, but should not over 6g for each day.
3. Carbohydrate: take enough carbohydrate but not too much. Cereal, rice and pasta are good sources. Patients should not intake carbohydrate over 150-250g for each day. Pumpkin,potato and sweet potatoes can help to reduce cholesterol.
4. Protein: as patients take high quality protein is very important, you should take 1.2-1.5g for each day. Animal protein is better than plant proteins.
5. Calcium: you should eat some foods which contain rich calcium, such as milk and rib soup, to prevent Osteoporosis. You can add some vinegar when you boil your soup that can increase the dissolution of calcium absorption. But you should not take too much calcium, otherwise it will add workload to your kidney.
6. Fat: diet should be light and avoid fat. Do not eat fried food that is harmful to your health. Do not eat animal offals,yolk,roe,pig’s feet and chicken skin and so on.
patients also should form a healthy living habit, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and cold foods, keep away from alcohol and tobacco.
