How To Take Care Of The Uremia Patients

2018-10-03 14:33

To those uremia patients they must be taken good care of in daily life ,especially to their diet. Then you should know what should I pay attention to when nursing uremia patients.

1. Avoid high potassium sorghum food

When uremia patients have less urine or even no urine, they should avoid high-potassium foods, especially bananas, oranges, monosodium glutamate, soy sauce, etc. Because potassium ions are excreted in the urine, if the amount of urine is small, the potassium is discharged less. If you eat more, there may be hyperkalemia, which will endanger the heart and even prevent the heart from jumping and accidents. When the daily urine output of patients with Nephritis is above 1 000 ml, the intake of potassium salt may not be controlled; If the urine volume is below 1 000 ml, or if there is hyperkalemia, then you should choose low-potassium. According to the analysis, every 100 grams of common foods containing potassium below 100 mg are: Eggs, intestines, pig blood, pigskin, sea cucumber, gluten, lotus root starch, pumpkin, melon, etc.; The potassium content above 300 mg is: Meat, animal offal, chicken, fish, shrimp, sea bream, squid, peanuts, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, rapeseed, spinach, cress, alfalfa, mustard, mushrooms, kelp, fungus, seaweed, jujube, dried persimmon, Ham, scallops, shrimp, etc. Soybeans and soy products, animal offal, seafood shrimps, spinach, mushrooms, thick chicken broth, beer, etc. are all rich in sputum, should be avoided, because these foods will lead to elevated levels of uric acid in the blood, which will increase kidney damage.

2. Adequate carbohydrates

Since the restriction of protein intake, heat energy is mainly supplied by carbohydrates (mainly sugars and starches), so the sugar in the diet should be appropriately increased to meet the body’s demand for heat energy; In addition, sufficient heat supply can reduce protein consumption, reduce the burden on the kidneys, and allow a small amount of protein to be completely used for tissue repair and growth, and these foods are metabolized in the body to produce water and carbon dioxide, which won’t increase the burden on the kidneys. Such foods include rice noodles, arrowroot, potatoes, glutinous rice, yam, and honey.

3. Appropriate vitamin and mineral supplements

People with uremia have poor appetite and unbalanced nutrition. Therefore, foods rich in vitamin C, vitamin B, and vitamin D, such as fresh vegetables and fruits, or oral vitamin supplements should be eaten properly to prevent vitamin deficiency. Uremia is often accompanied by anemia symptoms, mainly caused by a lack of hematopoietic materials, so uremia patients should also choose some iron-rich foods, such as pork liver, eggs, tomatoes, red dates and green leafy vegetables.

For patients with severe edema and oliguria, the daily water intake should also be strictly controlled, generally not exceeding 500 ml on the basis of daily urine output. Because the water that is drunk in can not be discharged, staying in the body will cause edema to aggravate sudden heart failure and other accidents. Some patients think that the day before dialysis it is okay to drink more water, this is very dangerous!
