Haemoglobin 8.1 Is It Related to Chronic Kidney Disease

2018-04-19 14:19

Haemoglobin 8.1, whereas normal max range is 12.0 - 16.5 g / dl (male), 11.0 - 15.0 g / dl (female), presents for the illness case of anemia. Moreover, it can worsen the kidney case for kidney disease patients. And thus, is the haemoglobin 8.1 related to chronic kidney disease (CKD)?

Before answering this question, let’s know more CKD.

CKD refers to a medical condition in which the kidneys are damaged gradually as a result of the long time hypertension, diabetes or other illnesses. Additionally, the acute kidney problem can transfer to CKD provided the patients do not take the effective treatment timely. When the kidneys are injured seriously, the patients will have many issues, such as anemia, protein in urine, blood in urine, high blood pressure, etc.

That it to say, CKD can be a cause of low haemoglobin 8.1.

And then, how does CKD make the haemoglobin diminished in the body?

1. Lesser hemopoietin secretion resulted from the lack of renal function reduces the products of haemoglobin.

2. Serious blood in urine is another reason why the blood is short of haemoglobin.

3. Deposited Toxins which should be eliminated totally by kidneys can injure the red cells and cut down the content of haemoglobin in blood.

Hence, how to treat haemoglobin 8.1 in CKD?

I strongly recommend the patients to treat the damaged kidneys rather than simply adding the haemoglobin, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), for an example.

In fact, during the the whole treatment of TCM, some herbs having different functions will be adopted based on the patients’ illness conditions to strengthen the qi and blood, clean the inner surrounding not only the blood but also cells, promote the renal recovery, etc. By this way, the haemoglobin will be normal, the CKD will be maintained well or reversed, and the patients can carry on with a fairly ordinary life.
