Is egg good for patients with FSGS and massive proteinuria ? Let have a look what the experts said about it.

Massive Proteinuria is the common symptoms of FSGS, it is caused by abnormal kidney function. After our kidneys damaged, large amount of protein will leak into urine and formed into proteinuria. So as a FSGS patient with massive proteinuria, you should control the intake of protein. As we all know, egg contains abundant of nutritions, especially protein. So experts recommend you to eat some but not too much eggs, limit whole eggs to 2 per week, use egg substitutes or whites only.

In order to help patient with FSGS to make a fit diet plan, here i give you some constructions and hoping they can help you.

● Low-fluid

A small amount of water intake should be listed in your diet plan, because much fluid will be out of damaged kidneys' control. Water restriction can contribute to balancing body fluids and remedying generalized swelling. Some fruits like grapes, berries and watermelon can be ate when you are thirsty.

● Low-protein

Intake of protein plays a major role in FSGS diet, which can be used to reimburse the large amount loss of protein. However, you should avoid excessive amount of protein food, which may increase the burden of the impaired kidneys.

● Low-sodium

Symptoms like high blood pressure and edema can be aggravated by too much sodium intake, so you need avoid eating salty foods, such as salted drinking, pickles, walnuts, and sated cashew nuts and so on.

● Low-fat and low-cholesterol

Choose lean meats avoiding fat meat; Use healthy oils such as olive, canola, safflower, sunflower; Limit saturated fats (dairy, animal fat) and eliminate trans fat (partially hydrogenated oils found in processed and fast food).
