What Creatinine Level Requires Dialysis

2016-10-07 15:47

What Creatinine Level Requires DialysisThe following information is about the professional suggestions about what creatinine level requires dialysis, hoping it could be helpful.

As for acute Renal Failure patients who have had oliguria or anuria for more than 24-28 hours, we recommend them to take dialysis treatment if they are in one of the following conditions:

1. Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)≥21.4mmol/L or it goes up 9mmol/L every day

2. Serum creatinine≥442μmol/L

3. Serum potassium≥6.5mmol/L

4. HCO3﹣<15mmol/L

5. Severe nausea, vomiting, dysphoria, depression, pulmonary edema or disturbance of consciousness

6. Hemolysis, free hemoglobin>12.4 mmol/L

In the following situations, the urgent dialysis will be recommended:

1. Serum potassium≥7mmol/L

2. Carbon dioxide combining power≤15mmol/L

3. pH≤7.25

4. Blood Urea Nitrogen≥54mmol/L

5. Serum creatinine≥884μmol/L

6. Acute pulmonary edema

That what creatinine level requires dialysis has no direct relation with only a creatinine level. Even though the creatinine level is 700~800μmol/L, people still have some certain urine output, and there are no hyperkalemia, water-sodium retention and other obvious symptoms, dialysis can be postponed. As for people with severe high blood pressure orDiabetes or lupus, if Ccr is less than 10ml/min, dialysis should be started.

Early dialysis can help reduce the occurrence rate of complications of long-term dialysis, but the fact is that dialysis is unable to treat any kinds of kidney diseases. After a period of dialysis, patients may find the decreased urine output, which indicates the continue loss of kidney function.

If you want to know whether you should take dialysis or not, you can send email to us or leave message below, we will try our best to help you.
